Grams Urges Sec. Johanns to do all necessary to stop BWCA fire
Senator Rod Grams, 8th District Congressional candidate, has called upon Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Johanns, urging the Secretary to allow fire fighters to use mechanized equipment to help slow down the spread of the BWCAW (Boundary Waters Canoe Are Wilderness) wild-fire. Under current law, the BWCAW is labeled as a “Wilderness Area” and therefore no mechanized equipment can enter the area without special permission from Secretary Johanns. read more...
